Responsible for developing and growing a value-minded supplier network that drives continuous improvement in the total delivered value of required products and services. Utilize Tuthill Business Systems (TBS) tools and processes in support of Policy Deployment and Strategic Intent. Lives into the Tuthill Brand by providing peace of mind and dependability to internal and external customers and suppliers.
Develop and design new products utilizing TBS Tools (LPD) to support Strategic Intent and to meet customers' requirements, specifications, and application requests in alignment with Policy Deployment. Ensure the releases of new and enhanced products are safe through risk assessments and compliance to regulatory requirements. Ensure product conformance through creation of standard work and implementation of verification and validation processes. Assess functions of existing products to determine if new product would enhance existing product offering or provide additional function for customers, ease of manufacturing, or reduced cost. Establish and coordinate the activities to follow the product from design through production, including timelines, product cost comparisons, and material selection. Conduct patent research and application for new products. Produce models and drawings consistent with product requirements, guidelines, and standards. Verify drawings for clarity, completeness, and conformity to standards. Maintain project files and resource materials, including drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria and specifications. Refine and enhance processes by applying continuous improvement and Tuthill Business Systems (TBS) lean manufacturing tools and processes. Utilize problem solving tools and visual controls to meet commitments of policy deployment and Vision, Mission, Value, Brand (VMVB). This position requires intermittent domestic travel (less than 5%).
Strong aptitude and prior experience or education in an industrial manufacturing setting up and operating Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and various manual machines to perform such functions as turning, cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring of metallic workpieces using standard work instructions.
Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, electrical systems, and physical structures in an industrial environment, and other cross functional activities within the product flow.
Understands and participates in alignment with the goals and initiatives of the company – specifically around the action of directing, mentoring, and coaching employees, processing equipment to produce the customers' demand, work with quality assurance to comply and improve acceptance criteria, report needed maintenance to molds and equipment.
